Our BELIEFS

01 The Bible

The Bible is the living Word of God – infallible as originally given and the supreme authority in all Christian doctrine and lifestyle.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

— 2 Timothy 3:16-17

02 The Trinity

In one eternal God who is the Creator of all things (Revelation 4:11). He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

“As soon as Jesus was baptised, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

— Matthew 3:16-17

03 Sin

Sin has separated each of us from God. The Lord Jesus Christ, who is both fully God and fully man, is the only One who can reconcile us to God.

“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.”

— 1 Peter 3:18

In the Lord Jesus’ virgin birth (Matthew 1:18), in His sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21), in His ministry and miracles, in His death on a cross in our place (Mark 15:27), in His bodily resurrection (1 Peter 1:3), in His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Colossians 3:1) and in His imminent return (Acts 1:9-11).

“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

— 2 Corinthians 5:21

04 Jesus

In the person and work of the Holy Spirit with His fruit (Galatians 5:22-23) and gifts available for believers (Ephesians 4:11, Romans 12:4-8, 1 Corinthians 12: 7-11).

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

— Galatians 5:22-23

05 Holy Spirit

In order to come into relationship with God, we must repent of our sins and put our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 20:21).

“I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.”

— Acts 20:21

06 Repentance

Our eternal destination of either Heaven or Hell (Revelation 21:1-8) is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23).

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

— Romans 6:23

07 Eternity

God's desire for us is that we are baptised in water (Matthew 28:19) and empowered by being baptised in the Holy Spirit (Acts 19:1-7, Acts 8:14-17). We then live a Spirit-filled life by being continually filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18).

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”

— Matthew 28:19

08 Baptism

In an enemy called the devil, whose purpose is to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). The devil has been defeated by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:13).

“For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.”

— Colossians 1:13

09 The Devil

God's desire is to bring release and freedom for those who are bound up in sin, in sickness or in pain and/or oppressed (Luke 4:18-19).

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.”

— Luke 4:18-19
