Dear Parent,

Thank you for entrusting your child with us on a Friday. We believe in, and value young people and see our role as coming alongside young people to help them to grow and develop in all that we believe they are called to be.

Your child is in safe hands when they come to Lifegate Youth. Safety is our highest priority at Lifegate Youth. To achieve this, there are a number of things we have put in place:

Staff Oversight

Our Youth Pastor, Christie, and our Young Adults Pastor, Andrew, are paid staff members who oversee all Lifegate Youth programs and their safety. They have been trained in risk management, workplace health and safety procedures, first-aid, mental health first-aid and domestic and family violence awareness training.

Volunteer Leaders

Lifegate Youth is overseen by volunteer leaders who are over 18 years old. They are young adults who are passionate about supporting young people and being good role models to guide them through their teenage years. They all have their N.S.W Working With Children’s Check and wear Lifegate Youth shirts and ID lanyards at all times to ensure child protection safety guidelines are being met.

Check In

We have a check-in system for all young people who attend on a Friday night. Your child will fill out a new person sheet when they arrive for the first time, so that we can send you all the relevant safety info when they attend, and we have your contact details in case of an emergency.

First Aid & WHS

First-Aid Officers are rostered each Friday night. Risk Management plans are completed by appropriately trained personnel for each Lifegate Youth activity.

Safe Churches

Lifegate Church and all of its ministries are governed by the Churches of Christ Safe Churches Policy and all volunteers have been trained in Creating Safe Spaces.
